Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
Provision of legal support and advisory  to Celcom’s various commercial  and enterprise divisions to facilitate and safeguard Celcom’s interest, business objectves and operations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 
1. Prior experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts ranging from sale and purchase, leasing, service providers, content license, professional services, software licence, SAAS, platform delivery, maintenance and all other forms of commercial and technology related contracts. If you don't already have this experience, you will possess a willingness to learn.
2. Posesses a level of expertise or a keen interest to specialise in areas of law for technology, corporate procurement and telecommunications, including intellectual property, privacy and data security, telecommunications and consumer law. If you don't already have this expertise, you will possess a willingness to learn.
3. Provide timely, strategic and actionable advice as a key business partner to internal stakeholders in the Enterprise and Commercial business units.
4. Ability to balance legal issues against commercial considerations with a view of ensuring legal compliance and promoting Celcom’s interest. Assist and ensure that the legal requirements in place are in line with the latest regulations and laws.
5. Liaise with external solicitors and legal advisors as and when required 
6. Participate in meetings, discussions and/or negotiations with internal and external clients and provide advice, recommendations and suggestions on legal matters.
7. Prepare required reports to as and when required by management.
8. Generally assist the HOU on all matters related to the Legal Division as assigned by the the HOU

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

1. Bachelor’s Degree of Law/LLB
2. At least 5-8 years post qualification experience with exposure to telecommunications sector an added advantage
3. Admitted as advocate & solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES/ SKILLS

1. Excellent command in English and Bahasa Malaysia; verbal and written.
2. Computer literacy: Excel, Word, Powerpoint
3. Well-versed with the relevant laws, rules and regulations including the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and its subsidiary legislations.
4. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Able to work in dynamic and fast paced environment.
6. Drafting and research skills.
7. Communication including interpersonal skills.
8. Critical and meticulous analysis skills.
9. Problem solving skills 
10. Time, task management and prioritisation skills.
11. Responsible and take ownership of matters handled.
